Playbook: 46
Setup:
Step 1. Shift the LB'ers to the right
Step 2. Loop the defensive line
Step 3. Playmaker the SDT and LDE (both right of screen to blitz straight down
Step 4. Put the blitzing MLB over the left hip (while looking at the TV) of the WDT
Step 5. Place the blitzing LOLB (right of screen) into the B gap (between the RG/RT) and close on the LOS
Step 6. Re-blitz the blitzing LOLB (right of screen)
Control the deep FS and make sure you do not get beat deep. You can at times back up the coverage by using coverage audible plus up if you are still concerned about this.
Now the heat on this play is designed to come up the B Gap. He will come screaming up the gap on both passing plays and running plays.
If the offense gets cute and tries to slide protect against this blitz, we will have A Gap coming from the blitzing MLB and/or outside heat from the looping DE.
Final Thoughts:
The only downside to this play is it is only found in the 46 playbook. However the 46 playbook is easily the best defensive playbook in the game this year and it is what our defensive ebook will focus on so I suggest you give it a hard look if you have not already.
