34 Stack- Hog Buck 3
Play: 34 Stack- Hog Buck 3
Playbooks: ANY with 34 Stack (EX: NE, NYJ, 34, ETC)
Setup:
Step 1. Call BNR
Step 2. Spread out the LB'ers
Step 3. LB Audible to the left (blitzes the ROLB on the left of the screen)
Step 4. Put RILB (over center) into the right "A" gap and re-blitz him
Step 5. Put the blitzing LILB (right of screen) into a hook zone
Step 6. Put the blitzing LOLB (right of screen) into a purple zone
You can see that with the way our LB'ers and DL are aligned, the offense has no clue where the heat is coming from. We could bring heat from the A gap, B gap, or from either edge.
This is the first setup I wanted to show because it brings intense A Gap heat. A Gap heat is the foundation for all other heat in the game. This is because once the offense is worrying about stopping A Gap heat, it is much easier to bring heat from other areas. If the offense tries to block the A Gap heat on this particular setup, we will have untouched heat off the left edge.
The coverage on this play is outstanding. There are no weaknesses as we are only rushing five defenders.
Final Thoughts:
Next week, I will show you how to bring heat from other gaps and areas, while using the same defensive alignment as we used this week!
